The
EL-QUADRA is a pressure plate thermal break curtain wall system.
It is self supporting aluminium framework grid which is fixed to
the building structure. The grid consist of Focchi designed
extruded Aluminium mullions and transoms firmly interconnected
but allowing movement caused by external forces and thermal
expansion. The thermal break is achieved by inserting an
insulated extruded synthetic bar. The grid is fixed to the
building by galvanized steel brackets, which are fixed with the
help of high tensile steel bolts.
The glazed elements are inserted with appropriate gaskets, which
are made out of extruded EPDM assuring water proofing. The
opening lights are provided with an additional insulated frame
on which the double glazed units are inserted. The modules can
be opened inwards by means of hidden hingers. The glazing vision
area is composed of double glazed units. The spandrel area
comprises of external glass, polyurethane and an internal
aluminium sheet. These panels are inserted into the frame with
appropriate gaskets made of EPDM which assure water tightness as
well as quality and durability of the system. In EL- Quadra the
drainage and the connective natural ventilation of the internal
air is achieved in condition of equalized pressure with outside,
avoiding possible infiltration and condensation formation.
